This ceramic mural was originally created by Jean Graham in 2003 in conjunction with art teacher Linda Anderson, the students and teachers of Brentwood Elementary. In 2020 volunteers saved the Flying Together mural from demolition, dismantling and storing it for later reinstallation by the artist Jean Graham inside renovated Brentwood Elementary in 2022.

The quote is from Sadako Sasaki. The mural is dedicated to the diverse students and birds who pass through here, demonstrating that together we are greater than the sum of our parts.
